A company website is where SEO, Google Ads, Meta Ads, social media, branding and sales come together. If a user ends up on a slow or unstable site after a click, some of the budget and work is simply wasted.
Google defines Core Web Vitals as a set of metrics that measure actual user experience in three areas: loading, interactivity and visual stability. Currently, these include LCP, INP and CLS.
For a good experience, Google indicates LCP to 2.5 seconds, INP to 200 ms and CLS to 0.1, among others.
It is not a magic position lever. Google stresses that good Core Web Vitals do not guarantee high positions, as relevance and quality of content are still most important. However, they are part of a page experience score and can help where competing sites are responding to a similar intent.

LCP, or Largest Contentful Paint, measures the point at which the largest relevant element visible upon entering the site appears: a photo in the hero section, a large headline, a product graphic or a service banner.

CLS, or Cumulative Layout Shift, measures the visual stability of a page. It checks that elements do not shift during loading.
Example? Someone wants to click „Send,” but a banner appears and the button escapes lower. Such situations lower trust, make it difficult to contact and can lead to wrong clicks.

How to check Core Web Vitals on a company website?
The simplest start is PageSpeed Insights, but a single test doesn't tell the whole story. Lab data helps diagnose the causes of problems, while data from real users shows how a site performs on real devices.
Google Search Console reports Core Web Vitals based on user data and groups URLs by status and LCP, INP and CLS metrics.
Check more than just the home page. In practice, sub-pages of services, campaign landing pages, product cards, shopping cart, forms and contact pages may be more important. That's where the user makes the decision.
How to interpret PageSpeed Insights results?
The most important thing about PageSpeed Insights is the data from actual user visits, i.e. field data when available. Lab data helps find the causes of problems, but it doesn't always show the full picture of traffic from mobile, ads, different locations and slower devices.
Therefore, a score of 100/100 should not be an end in itself. The goal is to improve the experience on the most important pages: homepage, services, landing pages, product cards, shopping cart and forms.

LCP most often spoils the first screen of a page: large image, background video, slider, heavy animation, fonts and scripts. Start with images: make sure they are the right size, modern format, compression and defined dimensions.
The second area is hosting, caching and the way resources are loaded. A slow server or an overloaded theme can prolong a site's startup. It's worth checking the server's response time, CDN, browser cache and the order in which CSS and JavaScript files are loaded.
The third element is the design. The opening section should clearly state what the company offers and what the user is to do next. At two:web, this means a combination of aesthetics, speed and business purpose.
Most often, LCPs improve:
- Compression and resizing of images,
- use of WebP or AVIF formats,
- Limiting sliders and background videos,
